We really wanted to get on the property ladder. It's not getting any easier. That was a big reason for buying a house. We also wanted to find somewhere to be our family home.
Margaret's thoughts
I'd always suggest using a financial advisor. We had no real problems buying our house.
I think there are usually minor snags and issues when buying almost every home, but if you have someone sorting all that out for you, like a good financial advisor, you don't need to worry about it.
You hear about the horror stories and the things that go wrong, but the truth is our house purchase was pretty smooth, and the majority probably are, so remember that it's only the problems and disasters that get reported.
