Mary's Story
Our mortgage company paid for the solicitor's fees, which helped us, and it's one of the reasons we went for that mortgage.
We wanted to get on the property ladder, like so many other people, of course, and we knew where we wanted to live. This is going to be our family home for quite a while now.
Mary's thoughts
If I could do the whole thing again I'd look for a property worth a bit more, I think. They all seem to go up in value, so it's worth it.
The mortgage repayments are reasonable and we could have additional borrowing from the mortgage company if we needed it.
