Having a fixed rate is easier. It's the same payment every month. And we wanted to buy because at the end of the day the place will be mine. There was nothing we liked when we started looking but we found this place and we're happy. We're raising our family here.

You get tons of paperwork to deal with. Keep absolutely everything you don't need to sign and send back. You can bet that the one thing you lose or accidentally throw away, will be the vital form that holds everything up.
I'd love to buy my house outright. Not needing a mortgage would be nice!
