Louise's Story
We went for the cheapest mortgage we could find. We knew the house we wanted and this mortgage was the lowest, plus it was fixed for two years so we knew what we'd be paying.
After renting for a long time we really wanted to own our own house. Plus I wanted to decorate something myself!

We used an Independent Financial Advisor and that is something I'd recommend to anyone.
I was surprised at the amount of hidden costs. We seemed to get charged for lots of things we didn't expect and couldn't see.
And it takes a while to go through. Longer than we expected, actually. There seems to be nothing much you can do about that.
