Siobhan's Story
Where we lived houses were so expensive to rent and with a little child you need the security of not having to move unless you want to move.
Because getting a mortgage was something we'd never done before, we wanted to know exactly what would be coming out every month for two years, until we knew what we were doing.
Siobhan's thoughts
We feel more secure in our family home and we'll be there for a while.
Don't buy anything if you're not totally happy with it. Keep looking, rather than settle for something because you think time is running out.
If I had to go through it all again I'd take more time. Things feel rushed as a first time buyer, but now I feel that there's no pressure on me if I move and really there wasn't the pressure then that I thought there was.
