Denise's Story
We wanted to buy because we were starting a family. We went through a mortgage advisor and he advised a fixed rate, which is what we wanted and we know what we'll be paying for three years.
Buying was a good idea but we couldn't afford to live exactly where we wanted, though. We'll stay here for a little while.
Denise's thoughts
Home buying was very stressful and I'm not looking forward to having to do it again one day.
I think it'd be good to use an independent financial advisor. They know all the mortgages and can suggest the best ones for each client.
My husband is South African and it's not always easy for foreign nationals to get mortgages in the UK, so that adds to the stress as well.
