Dave's Story
With the zero deposit mortgage I got I could afford the house I wanted to buy. If my financial situation was different, I think I would have gone for another mortgage. The house I bought was across the road from where we were renting. So it sort of fell into my lap. I wasn't even looking to buy.
Dave's thoughts
I'll live in my house for a while, but I know I'll be moving again. Home buying wasn't too stressful and it's a good way to make money.
I'd suggest that anyone borrows as little as they can, and worry about the money for decorations and so on later. If you add these things to the mortgage you're paying it off, plus interest, for a long time.
